Curiosity.

Not the same as creativity, not the same as ignorance, not the same as passion. These are all internal. Curiosity is about the external. The world around you, not the world in your head.

Curiosity is not linear, focused, or research-based. It doesn’t produce scholars; at its worst it produces dilettantes. Scholarship is 100 books on the same subject; curiosity is 100 books on 100 subjects. Scholarship is archery, curiosity is fly fishing.

Curiosity is wandering.
